Hey All...just an update....I have been getting offers ranging from 29k-31k...sadly many of these people are not enthusits and I can't stand that. True money is a big factor with the sale of my car, however I will not sell my baby to someone who will not appreciate the time, money, effort and heart that i put into her....it's really like giving my kid up for adoption I really want to find a good home for her. Therefore please don't waste my time unless your a serious enthusists and my final final price is at 30k. Thanks everyone! :driving

As for the 525i, I would take those non-enthusiasts up on their offer. I don't think you are going to find many enthusiasts who are looking for a 525i tarted up to look like an M5.

Most people who understand the pedigree and history of the M-cars are not going to want something that looks like what it is not.

I applaud you for resisting the urge to put an M5 badge on the rear.

There’s a lot of validity in the above posts. If your looking for a “speed-enthusiast” I don’t think you find one willing to buy one of the slowest E39’s around, considering the mods you made to the 184 HP automatic. The added weight of the muffler and bumpers is going to take away from speed as well as increase braking distance. As brahtw8 suggested, I would take an offer from an “expression-enthusiast” and get your M3.

The car looks nice. I would drive it with standard exhaust and the true 5 logo on back. I like the package (wheels, front/side effects) but don't like the "fake" impression it gives with the addition of the exhaust and logo/model/emblem removal.

Thanks for the posts guys...Just to share my input as to why i even decided to modify my current 525i is the fact that during the time of purchase 3 years ago I invested much of my capital into my distribution company. From looking at my current car, it's obvious that I love the M5, but it just did not make any sense to drop 80k into an M5 especially not knowing the future outcome of my business venture. Now coming out of my 450hp Supra Twin Turbo I figured that the 540i 6 speed would be nice....then the test drive was done.....and shockingly i was not impressed at all. I figured that if I wasn't happy with the 540i's performance than it wouldn't make sense for me cough up the premium payment every month, so i settled on my beloved 525i which of course also gave me more capital to play with on my new company and that helped out immensely.

After one year of pure bliss i felt that it needed a face lift and so the M5 body conversion was done. Notice that i did NOT put on the M5 badge...that in itself would be wrong imo, therefore i left the rear end badgeless for that clean look. Now as for the type of buyer that i am looking for would still has to be a true enthusiast. My definition of a true enthusiast would obviously love to have the biggest and baddest motor in their car, however their budget at the present moment may not allow it and therefore my car would be a great stepping stone for them.
